Biryani & Rice in Garden Grove

Biryani is a construction project: basmati parboiled with whole spices, meat cooked separately in its masala, then the two layered and steamed together so every grain carries flavor without turning to mush. We build ours to order in chicken, lamb and vegetable versions — saffron on top, fried onions through the middle, and a boiled egg where tradition demands it. The chicken biryani is the volume champion of the whole restaurant; the lamb version is richer and worth the extra minutes. Plain basmati is here too, steamed with whole cumin, because half the curries on this menu deserve better than leftover rice.

Why Urban Punjab Biryani & Rice

A lot of 'biryani' in OC is curry stirred into rice. Ours is layered and dum-steamed properly, which is why it arrives with distinct grains, real saffron color and heat that builds instead of shouting. Family-size trays are the biggest seller for weekend gatherings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How spicy is the biryani?+

Default is a true medium with warmth from whole spices. We can make it mild for kids or turn it up to desi-hot — the masala is built per batch, so the request actually reaches the pot.

What comes with a biryani order?+

Every biryani ships with raita — the cooling yogurt sauce is not optional equipment. Add a side of shorba gravy if you like your rice wetter.

Which biryani should a group order?+

One chicken and one vegetable biryani covers almost any table. For parties, the family-size chicken biryani tray is the single most-reordered catering item we make.
